CiMUS Symposium: From bench to human translational research
12.07.2022

The 1st International CiMUS Symposium "From bench to human translational research" took place this July in our research centre, from the 11th to the 12th of July.
This scientific meeting counted with national and international speakers discussing the challenges and trends posed by biomedical research from its base to the clinical translation: comorbidities associated with metabolism, the importance of the brain in human diseases, new insights in cancer, aging and regeneration.
Our colleges Sheila Barrios, Lorena Valverde and our international Erasmus+ PhD student Teona Korkotadze from the Tbilisi State Medical University (Georgia), presented their work "Protamine nanoparticles as non-viral vectors for the treatment of glioblastoma", "Pulmonary administration of rifabutin with a micro/nano drug delivery system" and "Encapsulation of essential oils and bioactive plant extracts in pollen derived microcarriers", respectively.
